Phillip E. Casto
Phillip E. Casto, 74, of Sandyville, has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away July 15, 2014, at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.
Phil was born March 20, 1940, in Ripley, a son of the late Dr. Wendell and Addie Staats Casto. He was a graduate of Ripley High School, West Virginia University, where he was a member of the KA fraternity, and the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He was a practicing dentist for over 45 years. He served on the advisory council for Aldersgate Renewal Ministry as well as the lay missions coordinator for over 20 years. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outdoors. Phil was an accomplished woodworker and will always be known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a very active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Ripley. Phil was a loving husband and father and will be missed very much by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kay Casto; a brother, James Casto and his wife, Judy, of Westerville, Ohio; his children, Craig Casto and his wife, Becky, of Ripley, Amy Tomer and her husband, Brad, of Houston, Texas, and Jeffrey Casto and his wife, Benita, of Waynesboro, Pa.; and his grandchildren, Jacob and Lindsey Casto, Trevor, Tyler and Travis Tomer, Joseff, Isabel, Joshua, Eleisha, Tabitha, Joy and Jonathon Casto.
A celebration of the life of Phil Casto will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
