Leverene Jarvis Harper
Leverene "Ol' Ma" Jarvis Harper, 85, of Gandeeville went home to be with her Savior Monday, March 27, 2006.
She was born July 23, 1920, in Calhoun County, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Delilah Ellison Jarvis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Harper; and two sons, Robert Milt and Jerry Dean Harper.
She was a Christian, a self-employed merchant, retired employee of Kellwood and a former Red Cross volunteer. She enjoyed flowers, yard work, knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting.
Survivors include her daughters, Enid (Larry) Harpold and Bobbette (Norris Browne) Harper; special friend, Mary Taylor; grandchildren, Sean (Becky) Harpold, Rachel Harpold, Chris (Kelli) Kroeger, Harper (Dan) Thacker, and Belinda (Nate) Carpenter; great grandchildren, Robert, Chelse, Hanna, Josie, Elli, Liam, Collin Russell, Michael, Mikayla and Shayla; and her beloved Honey.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Don Ramsey and Chaplain Jake Moyer officiating. Burial will be in the Harper Cemetery, Jones Ridge, Harmony.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who can, to adopt a pet from the local animal shelter in memory of Leverene.
