Robert Finley Ong
Born in Point Pleasant, WV on Oct. 5, 1924
Departed on Aug. 10, 2006 and resided in Davisville, WV.
Robert Finley Ong, 81 of Davisville, WV. died August 10, 2006 at the St. Josephs Hospital.
He was born at Point Pleasant, WV. the son of the late Charles Finley and Edith McGrew Ong. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson Co. until moving to the Wood Co. area in 1966. He owned and operated the Ong Insurance Agency from 1974 until 2006. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II serving with the 498th. Bomber Squadron and recieved seven Bronze Stars for service in the Asiatic Pacific Theatres and the Phillipines. He loved the Outdoors and Gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Gillespie Ong of Davisville, WV. His Children, Kathy Crittenden of Seguin, TX. Steven Rader of Garrett Co. MD. Robin Davidson of Laurel, DE. Ryan Ong of Vienna, WV. Dea Jo Stanley of Evans, WV. and Michael Robert Ong of Ripley, WV. Eight Grandchildren; His Sister, Kathyn Ong Slaughter of Ripley, WV. and his nephew, Gregory Slaughter of Ripley, WV.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janna Kathryn Ramos and two Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:30 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg. Visitation will be Sunday from Noon until service time.
