Parsons, 69, of Leroy passed away, surrounded by his family, on May 23, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, following a brief illness. Donnie was a former employee of Kaiser Aluminum, a lifelong farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman. He attended Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Dora Mae Hammack Parsons; daughter, Donnetta (Eric) Parrish; sons, Tim (Mandy) Parsons and Rod Parsons; daughter-in-law, Koty Parsons and special friend, Paul Tackett; grandchildren, Drew, Carter and Kalyn Parrish, Grace and Luke Parsons, Rod and Zac Parsons, all of Ripley; and a brother, Kenny Parsons of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, K.G. and Iva (McGrew) Parsons: and a brother, Larry Parsons. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Leroy.
