  Notes	Pioneers of Roane Co, WV by John A House: Abraham Vandale was of German descent. He was born in New Jersey. Of his family there were eight brothers, all of whom were in the Revolutionary War. Abraham was at the battle of Point Pleasant in 1774. He came to Lewisburg, and thence to Fayette County. He donated the land on which the Fayette County Court House was erected. Abraham Vandale died at the age of 102 years. Abraham Vandale had several sons, one of whom was James.
