  Notes	From Bill Jewell OldRadios@AOL.COM George W. Parsons was a Confederate soldier with Company H of the 17th Virginia Cavalry. He was killed in battle at Lynchburg, Virginia and is buried in a cemetery there. The story told to me by George's niece (Lucille Jewell Ross, daughter of Miriam Parsons Jewell) in the late 1960's was that he lost his leg from cannon fire and bled to death in his brother's arms on the battlefield. She is the one that gave the original photograph to my father. It is still in the original oval wooden frame. Picture: GW Parsons
