Opal Boothe, 83, of Tariff, died Friday, September 30, 1994, at Roane General Hospital.
She was born at Tariff, the daughter of the late Henry J. and M. Louisa Drake Boothe. She was a switchboard operator for the former Citizens Telephone Co. and an accomplished seamstress. She was a Protestant.
She is survived by a foster daughter, Wilma Stewart Smith of Louisa, Va.; a brother, Woodrow Boothe of Tariff; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Sinnett-Taylor Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Keen officiating. Burial was in the Tariff Cemetery.
