Artie G. Welch
Artie G. Ramsey Welch of Spencer, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Roane General Hospital.
She was born at Amma, a daughter of the late Roy Monroe and Bertha Gay Nida Carper. She was a former employee of Spencer State Hospital and was owner and operator of Ramsey's Trailer Park and Convenience Store. She was a longtime member of the Amma Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats and dogs.
Survivors include her daughter, Carol Fisher; and companion, Earl Smith of Spencer; two granddaughters, Kimberly Campbell of Smyrna, Tenn., and Kathy and Ken Chard of Fort Wright, Ky.; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Campbell, and Kamden and Kolby Chard; and several nieces and nephews, including Rhonda McClain, whom she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William “Jack” Ramsey and Bernard Welch; sister and brother-in-law, Olive and Roy Phelps; brother and sister-in-law, Stratton and Faye Carper; brother, Ross Carper; three nephews; and one niece.
The service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Clover Cemetery.
Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
