      Obituary:

      Denver J. Boggess

      Denver J. Boggess, 81, of Teays Valley passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

      He was born Oct. 4, 1926, in Jackson County and was the son of the late Story and Virgie Ann Boggess. He was a contractor and worked for many years with Lincoln Homes. He was a master carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served as an MP in Germany.

      Denver was a humble, kind man who was loved very much. His wink and strong handshake will be greatly missed.

      In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Boggess, Oval Boggess, Thaddeous Boggess, J. Thurmand Boggess, Homer Boggess, Herbert Boggess, Leslie Boggess and his two sisters, Ethel Milam and Lakie Pfost.

      Surviving him are his lifetime companion, Phyllis C. Keeney; his sister, Thelma Boggess; three ?special? children, Mack Keeney, Becki Samples and Joe Bill Keeney; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a lot of friends.

      Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. David A. Bush officiating. Burial will be in Boggess Family Cemetery at Goldtown. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

      Death records for Herbert and Leslie show they were "killed by auto accidentally". Homer's shows "auto accident", was he riding in the car?
      This happened only 4 months after son Oval was killed in an auto accident.
