GIVEN - Charles Everett Stalnaker, 72, of Given died Sept. 5, 1999, in Memorial Division, CAMC, after a short illness.
He was a farmer and was retired from the shipping department of Rhone-Poulenc, Charleston. He was a graduate of Ripley High School and Cleveland Radio School. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, where he served as a radio mechanic. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ripley, a former member of Ripley Bank Boosters, a member of IOOF of Ripley and was master of Kenna Grange 516. He was co-vice president of Jackson County Community Association, captain of the Neighborhood Watch for Southern Jackson County, and a member and board member for the Commission on Aging, where he helped organize senior lunches for southern Jackson County.
Surviving: wife, Patricia Cook Stalnaker; son, Charles Alex Stalnaker of Given; sister, Marguerite Shamblen of Kenna; one grandchild.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Ripley with the Rev. William G. McMorran officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First Presbyterian Church, 210 Cedar Lakes Drive, Ripley, WV 25271. Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is in charge of arrangements.
