Loraine Pritt Fisher, 93, entered into Heaven Monday, July 2, 2007, at her home with her family by her bedside.
She was born April 5, 1914, in Kanawha County and lived her adult life in Goldtown.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert; her husband of 67 years, W. Odra; parents, David Bert and Flora Jones Pritt; and her siblings, Brady Pritt, David Bert Pritt Jr., Ira Pritt, Ruby Wilkinson, Wilma Hammack and Emma Goff.
She is survived by daughters and their husbands, Sue and John Paul Boggess of Kenna and Delores and Jerry Ranson of Ripley; two grandchildren and their spouses, Mike and Cyndi Ranson of Charleston and Nancy and Richard Lathey of Ripley; seven great-grandchildren, Ashli, Ambra and Derek Lathey of Ripley and Brittany Ryan and Jace Ranson and Cole Salmons of Charleston; sister-in-law, Phoebe Good; many nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends.
Mrs. Fisher was the last charter member of Fisher Memorial Church, where she faithfully served the church as church secretary, Sunday school teacher and choir member. A homemaker, she was an excellent seamstress and cook and especially enjoyed cooking family meals.
?Mom,? as many of her friends called her, was a very loving and kind person. The most important things in her life were her family and church and she dedicated her life to doing all she could for those whom she loved. She was always blessing others with her kindness and witty sense of humor. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
A celebration of life service for Mrs. Fisher will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Fisher Memorial Church with Lay Speaker Jay Carnell, the Rev. Carl Chambers and the Rev. Walter Milam officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Gardens of Memories, Pocatalico.
Friends may call at the church from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. The church is located ½ mile on Dudden Road, off the Goldtown exit of I-77.
The family desires to express special thanks to Diane Shamblin, Pat Aldridge and Anita and Leon Edens who faithfully gave Mom love and support during the past few years. We would also like to thank the Jackson County Health Department and HospiceCare for all the nursing care that was given to Mrs. Fisher.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Fisher Memorial Church Building Fund, 2515 Dudden Road, Kenna, WV 25248.
Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, is in charge of arrangements.
