Rudy Preston Boggess, 64, of Charleston departed this life Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness.
He was born Nov. 12, 1940, in Ripley and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Boggess; and one brother, Robert S. "Tootium" Boggess.
Rudy was the former owner of Boggess Disposal Service.
Survivors include his mother, Liddie Coleman Boggess of Kenna; three daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Kevin McKinney of Ripley, Amber and Zack Miller of Huntington and Ashley Boggess of Charleston; one son and his wife, Terry and Kim Boggess of Sissonville; four grandchildren, Hayley and Hannah Boggess and Logan and Cailie McKinney; four sisters, Maggie Casto of Ripley, Rowena Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio, and Margaret Westfall and Regina Slater, both of Kenna; and three brothers, Stanton, Roy and Nemo Boggess, all of Kenna.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev. Al Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
