Ruth Maxine Skinner

Ruth Maxine Skinner, 89, of Gay, W.Va., passed away at her home on Oct. 27, 2008.
Ruth was born in Gay on Nov. 17, 1918, the daughter of Virgil and Orlie Morris.
She was the postmaster at the Gay Post Office for 39 years. She was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church in Gay, where she was also the secretary. She was also a lifelong member of the C.E.O.'s Woman's Club of Gay.
Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers, Keith Morris and Ayward Morris; her sisters, Dorothy Johns and Glenva Randolph; and her grandson, Richard Lee Skinner.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Raymond Ray Skinner; her children, a daughter, Margaret Lee and her husband, Elmer Rhodes, of Gay; her sons, Raymond Ray Skinner Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Hampton, Va.; also, Howard Skinner and his wife, Dorma of Gay; her grandchildren, Lorelei Pike and her husband, Steve, of Madison, Va., Loutricia Johnson of Hampton, Sonia Raines and her husband, Chuck, of Ripley, Vernon Skinner and his wife, Laurie, of Flanda, Va., and Pastor Dee Rhodes and his wife, Lois, of Ripley; her great-grandchildren, Lucas Casto and his wife, Zena, of Ripley, Chrystal Pranke and her husband, Bradley, of Virginia, Kayla Raines of Ripley, Adam Johnson of Hampton, Va., Andrew Johnson of Hampton, Joshua Pike of Madison, Va., Louriney Skinner of Flauda, Va., Andrea Pike of Madison and Sara Johnson of Hampton. She is also survived by four great-great-grandchildren, as well as many good friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Bill Holley officiating. Burial will be in the Parsons Cemetery, Gay. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
