  Notes	Briggs Kirby Ernest Briggs Kirby, 68, Cheshire, died suddenly at 11 am Tuesday. He retired as a Gallipolis State Institute employee in 1976. He was a member of the Cheshire Baptist church, of the Cheshire Masonic Lodge, of Chapter 450 Eastern Star and a life member of the Little Kyger Grange. Survivors include his wife and a son. He married Vivian Fowler March 26, 1937, at Briggsdale, Ohio. Their son is George Franklin Kirby, Boston, Mass. Their daughter-in-law is Marian Kirby and there are three grandsons, Curtis, Christopher and Clark. The widow is the daughter of teh late Isaac and Rosanna Fowler, adn she is a retired schoolteacher. Briggs Kirby was born March 15, 1909, at Clifton Forge, VA to the late Jenry Albert and Garnet Briggs Kirby. His father died in 1923, his mother in 1975. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday, at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home, the Rev William Uber officiating, and burial will be in Gravel Hill cemetery. Friends may call 7-9pm Thursday at the funeral home.
