Daniel D. Casto, age 66, of Pocahontas County, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009.
Daniel was born in Charleston.
He was a graduate of Nitro High School and West Virginia State College. For most of his life he lived in Kanawha County where he was engaged in heavy equipment sales. For the past 10 years, he lived and worked in his favorite place on earth, Pocahontas County. He was a member of the Nitro Masonic Lodge AF & AM, Lions Club, Greenbrier Valley Board of Realtors and West Virginia Board of Realtors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Denver C. Casto.
He is survived by his mother, M. Ardella Casto, of Cross Lanes; wife, Nancy, of Stony Bottom; sons Richard Casto, and wife, Tina, of Durham, North Carolina, Jon Casto, and wife, Jennifer, of Roanoke, Virginia; brother David Casto, of Cross Lanes; sister, Sharon Gill, of South Charleston; and three grandchildren, Zoe, Denver and Hayden.
Funeral service was held August 15, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home in Poca.
A memorial service will be held in Pocahontas County at the farm of Bill and Sue Heavener, between Boyer and Arbovale, Saturday, September 12, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to the Snowshoe Foundation, PO Box 130, Snowshoe, WV 26209 or the American Cancer Association.
